ADOT 5-Year Program Includes Douglas Connector Road & Truck Safety Inspection Facilities

After months of advocacy by local leadership and regional stakeholders, the recently approved FY2025-2029 Five-Year Highway Construction Program includes the Douglas Connector Road Project and Funding for truck inspection facilities. Mayor Donald Huish, along with Cochise County Supervisor Ann English, testified several times before the Arizona State Transportation Board requesting the inclusion of the connector road. While much work remains ahead, including the completion of the necessary studies and securing the full funding, this is a major step forward to see the project become a reality.
